What we’re looking for
We have an exciting fixed term opportunity until 31/07/2026 to join the Safeguarding team as a Looked-After Support Officer. We are recruiting for a self-motivated, proactive individual who can use their initiative to drive this position forward. You will be organized and ready for a challenge, demonstrate excellent organisational skills, and handle confidential information with professionalism and sensitivity. You will work closely with Looked-After or Care Experienced learners to provide appropriate advice, guidance and mentoring.
Primary duties
1. Managing a caseload of Looked-After or Care Experienced learners
2. Attending multi-agency meetings such as PEPs and LAC reviews
3. Liaising with relevant schools, social workers and other agencies to manage transitions for Looked-After learners
4. Attending meetings with local authorities to share information appropriately
5. Identifying Looked-After learners at risk of not achieving and implementing effective support plans
6. Providing mentoring and progression support for Looked-After learners to help them achieve their goals
7. Referencing and signposting learners for additional support internally and externally
8. Traveling across different campuses to meet one-to-one with learners who may require support or advocacy
