Salary: £45k-60k pro rata depending on experience
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to oversee our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in financial management and accounting software Xero. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable, and providing strategic insights to support our business objectives.
Responsibilities
* Oversee the preparation of financial statements and reports in compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Manage the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate payments to suppliers.
* Implement and maintain effective financial controls and procedures to safeguard company assets.
* Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
* Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights that support decision-making processes.
* Prepare budgets and forecasts to guide the company’s financial planning efforts.
* Ensure the accuracy of financial data entered into accounting software Xero.
* Liaise with external auditors during annual audits and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar financial management role.
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, particularly in relation to accounts payable.
* Proficiency in accounting Xero is essential.
* Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
* A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred; professional qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) are advantageous but not mandatory
