We have extensive experience in both the public and private sectors, including major projects such as the residential restoration of The Cocoa Works in York, the University of Sheffield AMRC’s aviation research and development facility and key schemes within Sheffield’s Heart of the City development.
As an Assistant Site Manager, you’ll play a key role in coordinating labour, plant, and subcontractors on-site. You’ll ensure that work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality, while supporting the Site or Project Manager in day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Promote and maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance
* Support site safety supervision, lifting operations, and temporary works coordination
* Assist in managing site costs, materials, and plant requisitions
* Monitor project progress and contribute to programme management
* Liaise with third parties including clients, inspectors, and suppliers
* Ensure quality assurance and compliance with the Considerate Constructors Scheme
* Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and maintain effective communication across teams
Qualifications and Experience:
* Level 4 qualification in Construction or Built Environment
* Experience managing construction activities on active sites
* Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
* Knowledge of construction technologies and site safety standards
Skills and Abilities:
* SMSTS/SSTS, First Aid, Fire Warden, Temporary Works Coordinator
* Experience with subcontractor management and report writing
* Driving licence for site access
