Our client, an engineering design consultancy, is looking for a Temporary Works Engineer to join their team in Croydon.
Responsibilities:
* Carry out preliminary and detailed designs for temporary and permanent works.
* Prepare engineering drawings, reports, and technical documentation.
* Conduct structural analysis and ensure all designs meet relevant codes and standards.
* Support preparation of technical and fee proposals.
* Coordinate with contractors, clients, and multidisciplinary teams.
* Undertake site visits and inspections as required.
* Manage project progress, deadlines, and communication across stakeholders.
* Provide technical input and guidance to junior engineers.
Skills & Experience:
* Minimum 2 years’ experience, ideally in temporary works or rail-related projects.
* Strong knowledge of relevant design codes, standards, and analysis methods.
* Proficient in engineering software and Microsoft Office applications.
* Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation is beneficial.
* Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
* Strong attention to detail and adherence to quality systems.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ICE or IStructE accredited course.
* Minimum 2:1 degree classification (or equivalent).
* Actively progressing towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status.
Additional Information:
* A full, clean driving licence is desirable.
* PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification preferred.
* Some site work, including occasional overnight or weekend work, may be required
