Responsibilities
* Support the Access Team with various administrative functions.
* Book patient appointments in line with consultant protocols and booking policies.
* Ensure medical case notes are available throughout the hospital.
* Handle patient enquiries politely and professionally.
* Maintain effective working relationships with Access appointments & admissions staff, medical and nursing staff, X‑ray, pre‑op staff, records staff at other hospitals, and GP practices.
* Adapt to support across different areas of the Access Team as required.
* Show discretion when dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
* Remain calm and courteous when dealing with staff at all levels and the public, face‑to‑face and by telephone.
* Provide support to other administrative areas including outpatient and inpatient booking, radiology booking, reception team, library, scanning team, medical secretaries, Montgomery Unit, and validation team.
Qualifications
* GCSE level or equivalent education.
* Experience working in a busy office environment and using computers.
* Experience with Patient Administration Systems desirable; training will be provided.
* Ability to work flexibly and adapt across different areas.
