My client is a globally renowned, multi-billion-pound energy & engineering firm seeking a Senior Procurement Manager with experience in Directs (Gas Commodities, Engineering Equipment) and Indirects to join their expanding procurement function. The role involves devising and implementing procurement strategies aligned with the company's strategic goals during a period of transformation.
This position manages a team of three (Procurement Manager + 2 Senior Buyers) and oversees strategic sourcing, supplier relationships, and stakeholder engagement. It offers a chance to develop industry knowledge and advance your career within a market leader experiencing rapid growth.
The firm offers circa £80,000 + £6,000 Car Allowance + 10% Bonus, with a hybrid working model based in Surrey, Berkshire, Hampshire, or Manchester, Warrington, Bolton areas.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
2. Manage end-to-end procurement for Direct and Indirect spend, fostering supplier relationships to optimize costs.
3. Oversee key supplier relationships through reviews and audits, ensuring contractual compliance and maximizing value.
4. Partner with senior stakeholders to enhance procurement impact and resolve supplier issues.
Experience Required:
* CIPS or MCIPS qualification, degree or equivalent.
* Extensive procurement experience in commodities, direct procurement, indirects, Capex, FM, PPE, major projects, or engineering-related procurement.
* Industry background in automotive, pharma, energy, chemicals, manufacturing, civil engineering, or related fields.
* Proven ability to improve operational efficiency, reduce risk, and achieve cost savings.
* Strong stakeholder management, SRM, influencing, and communication skills.
* Experience presenting to senior leaders and managing complex, ambiguous environments.
* Analytical skills with understanding of commercial/contract risk.
* Self-motivated, organized, and adept at complex problem-solving.
