We are looking to strengthen our engineering team with a Mechanical Engineer based at Preston, with hybrid working available and an expectation to attend sites regularly.
You will report directly to the R&D and your role will be to provide high-quality Engineering Design services to minimize risks and maximize profits on turnkey and engineering services contracts. Your responsibilities include coordinating the design and producing design documents and drawings, considering health and safety requirements, specifications, and standards.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Producing cost-effective design layouts that meet specifications and are suitable for construction and commissioning.
* Utilizing standard practices wherever possible.
* Providing estimates and feedback to the proposals department.
* Following procedures and processes to support department development.
* Monitoring and reviewing procedures and processes.
* Writing, updating, and implementing efficient procedures for smooth department operations.
* Coordinating designs with all internal and external disciplines to ensure integrated project execution.
* Fostering a culture where customer satisfaction is key to achieving objectives, considering all beneficiaries of our processes.
* Considering environmental issues in designs.
* Ensuring designs comply with all health and safety requirements.
Essential requirements:
* Understanding the principles of water and sewage treatment.
* Relevant discipline Engineering HND.
Preferred qualifications:
* Engineering degree in a relevant discipline.
Skills:
* Ability to rationalize designs and produce economical plant layouts.
* Flexible mindset with the ability to process large amounts of data.
* Ability to present technical proposals clearly and convincingly.
* Computer literacy.
