Ardagh Glass Knottingley are currently looking to recruit for this demanding role, which reports to the Operations Manager. The role is responsible for leading the Batch and Furnace team to achieve the highest quality at optimum performance levels.
This role has the opportunity for leadership development, including internal training and externally accredited programmes to support your performance and career progression.
Responsibilities:
* Lead the Knottingley batch and furnace department by providing leadership, support, identifying training and developments gaps and opportunities.
* Ensure the Batch and Furnace department is resourced with sufficient skilled staff within established levels across all shifts.
* Monitor furnace and batch plant performance and delegate to others to correct problems and improve performance.
* Liaise with managers across the plant to resolve quality issues and improve process performance.
* Establish and maintain and effective communication flow between colleagues, Supervision and department Mangers. To maintain a well-informed team as well as collaborating across departments to ensure successful results.
* Work with Projects Manager, Technical Centre and contractors to plan and oversee repairs and refurbishments.
Required skills / qualifications:
* Ability to drive improvements, focusing on glass quality.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate to all levels of the organisation.
* Creative problem-solving skills.
* Lean manufacturing experience is beneficial.
* Extensive experience in glass or related continuous manufacturing environment
