Overview
Are you passionate about delivering excellent customer service and supporting families and young people across our communities? We’re looking for a dedicated Caseworker to join our Client Transport team to help ensure children, young people, and eligible service users can access safe and reliable transport to school, college, and social care settings. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a service that makes a genuine difference every day.
About us
Buckinghamshire Council is a relatively new organisation that combines the strengths and expertise of the previous five councils in the county to create positive change for local people, communities, and businesses. We are firmly focused on the future and have made a clear commitment to serve residents better and to provide stronger representation for Buckinghamshire, both locally and nationally.
Our Client Transport team sits within the Communities Directorate – Transport & Regulatory Services, working to provide vital home-to-school and social care transport across the area. We are a busy, customer-focused team committed to delivering high-quality services, upholding our values, and continuously improving the experience for the families and residents we support.
About the role
As a Caseworker, you will play a key role in supporting families and service users with transport arrangements, resolving queries, processing casework, and ensuring our service runs smoothly and efficiently. You’ll engage directly with customers, provide accurate advice, and work closely with colleagues across the wider team.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Providing a professional and effective service to help customers access Client Transport support.
2. Offering clear advice and specialised information on available transport options.
3. Managing and resolving customer enquiries and complaints via phone, email, and digital systems.
4. Processing and checking casework such as Personal Transport Budgets, post-16 fee cases, and spare seat allocations.
5. Collating and maintaining accurate records, reports, and documentation.
6. Creating documents and materials to support the delivery of the Client Transport service.
7. Supporting financial processes, including secure handling of payments and reconciliations.
8. Identifying opportunities to improve procedures and service delivery.
Any-Desk:
As an ‘any-desk’ worker, you’ll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements.
About you
We are seeking a professional, customer‑focused Caseworker with strong administrative and problem‑solving skills to support the delivery of an effective Client Transport service. The ideal candidate should be confident handling enquiries and complaints sensitively across phone, email, and digital platforms. They will have experience managing detailed large case load, while maintaining accurate records, reports, and documentation. A strong attention to detail, confidence in supporting financial processes such as secure payments and reconciliations, and the ability to produce clear supporting documents are essential.
