Role Overview

You will be part of a dynamic and supportive team that includes Adult and Paediatric nurses, Doctors, Advanced Practitioners, Emergency Care Practitioners, Senior Nursing Assistants and Nursing Assistants. Your role as a Band 3 Senior Nursing Assistant will involve being part of a team that delivers high standards of care to patients and their carers in the Paediatric Emergency Department. The Emergency Department proactively supports nursing assistants to enhance their clinical skills through internal training courses and employment in an acute hospital setting.
Responsibilities
Your key duties will include: supporting nurses and doctors in patient care; monitoring patient vital signs; assisting with emergencies; ensuring a clean and safe environment; coordinating with the team to provide timely care; and following the Trust’s clinical and safety protocols.
Qualifications
Ideally you will have some experience working in an acute hospital. Experience in emergency care and a willingness to develop clinical skills are desirable. You will receive further training and support to grow in an emergency care environment.

Salary & Pay Steps
Successful candidates will be appointed to the first pay step within the band when they start with the Trust (unless they have previous relevant NHS continuous service). Progression up the pay steps will follow NHS Agenda for Change terms and conditions. For part-time roles a pro‑rated salary will be based on appropriate pay step, point and hours worked in accordance with AfC and all medical and dental terms and conditions.
