Role Overview

If you want to work in a fast-paced environment with the opportunity to make a real difference for patients during one of the most stressful times in their lives, come and join us. You will be part of a dynamic and supportive team that includes Adult and Paediatric nurses, Doctors, Advanced Practitioners, Emergency Care Practitioners, Senior Nursing Assistants and Nursing Assistants. Your role as a Band 3 Senior Nursing Assistant will involve being part of a team that delivers high standards of care to patients and their carers in the Paediatric Emergency Department. The Emergency Department proactively supports nursing assistants to enhance their clinical skills through internal training courses and employment in an acute hospital setting.

Responsibilities

Your key duties will include: supporting nurses and doctors in patient care; monitoring patient vital signs; assisting with emergencies; ensuring a clean and safe environment; coordinating with the team to provide timely care; and following the Trust’s clinical and safety protocols.

Qualifications

Ideally you will have some experience working in an acute hospital. Experience in emergency care and a willingness to develop clinical skills are desirable. You will receive further training and support to grow in an emergency care environment.

Working Conditions & Benefits

All nursing, clinical, and operational roles may involve working on a 24/7 shift basis unless otherwise specified during the recruitment process. You will have access to excellent training opportunities, flexible working arrangements, dedicated support networks, and a strong emphasis on health and wellbeing to ensure a thriving and positive work environment. The Trust promotes an inclusive culture and offers a supportive environment where everyone feels valued.

Salary & Pay Steps

Successful candidates will be appointed to the first pay step within the band when they start with the Trust (unless they have previous relevant NHS continuous service). Progression up the pay steps will follow NHS Agenda for Change terms and conditions. For part-time roles a pro‑rated salary will be based on appropriate pay step, point and hours worked in accordance with AfC and all medical and dental terms and conditions.

Equal Opportunities

We actively encourage applications irrespective of age, disability, gender, race and ethnicity, religion or belief, and sexual orientation. The Trust can make reasonable adjustments and offer support and advice throughout the application process.
