We have a great opportunity for a Lead Procurement Manager to join a successful team, leading and developing various elements of the Property category including developing the strategy for Building Fabric Maintenance (BFM) working closely with our partners across property, distribution, retail and customer. The Lead role manages a team responsible for shopfitting, shelving, main contractors, furniture and signage – the specific role is accountable for procuring all categories relating to building fabric maintenance including glazing, roofing, winter gritting, landscaping and pest control amongst others. We are looking for an experienced procurement manager, ideally someone who is experienced in the building / construction procurement industry. They will be working closely with our suppliers, senior colleagues and stakeholders within the business to create, build, and develop category plans in line with our strategic and financial objectives. Delivering high savings targets through implementation of robust sourcing events, ensuring that suppliers meet all operational requirements whilst providing the best value for Tesco. Ensuring positive relationships with suppliers & colleagues to support and deliver plans aligned to category procurement strategies to realise business savings and support innovation. Developing and delivering procurement strategies and award recommendations, which truly support the Tesco business objectives and deliver against out Save To Invest targets. Working with stakeholders to write and deliver the procurement category plan for BFM – this role is pivotal to support the extensive development programme across all formats. Consistently tracking and reporting on savings targets for specified sub-categories using the agreed process. Leading supplier reviews, acting as the point of contact for contract related issues. Developing strong relationships with stakeholders and procurement teams in other business areas and subsidiaries e.g. Booker & Tesco CE to drive group efficiencies and savings. Continuous market intelligence/analyses to identify alternative suppliers, new developments and efficiencies. Identify cost savings and optimisation levers while using data and insights to make informed decisions. Follow the Code of Business Conduct and ensure due diligence and ethical checks are completed. Leading a team and conducts performance reviews including undertaking regular 1:1’s and objective setting with your team. Procurement expertise with a background in managing GSNFR categories essential. Background in construction / building procurement preferable. Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and mentor a team of Procurement Managers including colleagues overseas. Experience in developing talent to grow our capability and skillset. Procurement management, contract management and negotiation skills, experience of managing large multi-million pound sourcing events. Ability to bring new concepts and ideas to life and bring senior colleagues on board. Capability to lead multiple projects simultaneously, driving innovation across the category.
