Locum Consultant Interventional Radiologist
Join to apply for the Locum Consultant Interventional Radiologist role at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust
We are seeking a Locum Consultant in Interventional Radiology on a fixed term contract for 6-12 months. The Radiology Department delivers a comprehensive imaging and interventional service, supporting the needs of a busy District General Hospital. We understand that maintaining wellbeing and a healthy work‑life balance is essential in a busy clinical environment, which is why we offer flexibility within job plans and working arrangements – including the option of a hybrid role. Home PACS access is available for colleagues who wish to work remotely for part of the week, providing the comfort and convenience of reporting from home.
As a Trust we have worked hard to expand and modernise the service. We have a newly refurbished 45m suite with Siemens Artis‑Q, Dyna CT, Cydar AI, IVUS, lithotripsy and a 5‑bed radiology day unit of which over 70% of vascular interventions are now done as day cases. In 2025 we are opening our brand new 79m hybrid IR theatre as part of our new surgical and critical care wing.
Specialist registration with the GMC is essential for this locum consultant role, under local organisational arrangements. Where you hold GMC specialist registration or are pending a CCT/ARCP/CESR outcome to obtain it, the role will be converted to the Specialist contract, pay and national terms & conditions set by NHS Employers. Please continue to apply.
