Manufacturing Manager role at Artemis Technologies.

The eFoiler Manufacturing Manager will report to the eFoiler Production Director and lead a multi-functional value team to deliver composite and metallic assemblies to cost, quality and schedule targets.


Role title and reporting

ROLE TITLE: eFoiler Manufacturing Manager

REPORTING LINE: The eFoiler Manufacturing Manager will report to the eFoiler Production Director.


Departmental overview

The Manufacturing Department within Artemis Technologies is responsible for ensuring the on-time and on-cost of parts supplied to build the eFoilerTM and its systems. Works with the Design Team and Manufacturing Engineers to develop efficient and practical processes for building eFoilers and supporting components.


The Role

Reporting to the eFoiler Production Director, the eFoiler Manufacturing Manager will be responsible for leading a multi-functional value team in the delivery of composite and metallic assemblies to cost, quality and schedule targets. The role requires close collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering, Procurement and the On Water Operations Team to integrate manufacturing deliverables into the vessels and support the growth of the Manufacturing function in the coming years.


Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

* Develop and deliver industrialisation strategies for Manufacturing in collaboration with the wider team.
* Line management for the eFoiler Manufacturing Function and reports – direct labour of up to 100 team members as the business grows.
* Build a Health and Safety culture to create a safe workplace and develop supporting behaviours.
* Performance management of eFoiler Manufacturing, including development plans for Operational Lead(s) and Team Leads.
* Day-to-day resource management and work planning.
* Coordinate support functions in the value stream to meet cost, schedule and quality targets.
* Governance for efficient manufacturing operations, including Visual Management and Production meetings.
* Deliver agreed KPIs for HS&E, cost, schedule and quality.
* Coordinate continuous improvement of production processes using lean and 5S methodologies.
* Partner with the people team to manage the direct labour hiring process for the eFoiler Manufacturing Team.
* Other management tasks as required aligned with training and experience.


Knowledge and specialist skills

Education/Qualifications and Experience:

* University degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.


Key skills required

* Demonstrated experience in maintaining health and safety through good HS&E practice.
* Experience in transformational environments such as growth, startup, or major new production introductions.
* Experience with continuous improvement and LEAN manufacturing methods.
* Experienced people manager with strong leadership skills.
* Experience managing a team within a manufacturing or assembly environment.
* Self-motivated with proven problem-solving ability.
* Good written and oral communication skills.
* Ability to organise themselves and others.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
* Excellent time-keeping and reliability.
* Ability to read and interpret technical documentation.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Experience with MS Office.


Preferred

* Working knowledge of LEAN and 5S methodology.
* Experience in composites manufacturing and assembly.
* Experience in a low-volume, high-complexity manufacturing environment.
* Experience in startup or high-growth situations.
* Experience of working in New Product Introduction.


General skills required

* Good IT skills (spreadsheets, presentation software, email).
* Full understanding of SOPs and work instructions for the role.
* Ability to read engineering drawings/manuals to a high standard.
* Ability to maintain 5S housekeeping standards in the factory.
* Commitment to health and safety policies at all times.
* Integrity in respect of confidential matters.
