The Group Financial Reporting team is responsible for producing the Annual Report and Accounts (ARA) and Half Year Results (HYR) announcements, including the strategic report. The team also supports other reporting and technical accounting tasks, providing guidance across the finance function and wider business.
This role reports to the Senior Financial Reporting Manager and involves ensuring the timely and high-quality delivery of key financial reports. It offers exposure to various areas such as Investor Relations, Communications, Tax, and Business Performance, requiring strong communication and influencing skills with senior management.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and present financial statements in accordance with IFRS and Group requirements.
* Review and challenge subsidiary data and commentary for accuracy and appropriateness.
* Support monthly/quarterly reporting processes, including segmental and joint venture reporting.
* Assist with technical accounting work, including standards application and impairment assessments.
* Contribute to the preparation of the Strategic and Management Reports for the ARA and HYR.
* Develop knowledge of finance systems to optimize technology use and internal controls.
* Implement process improvements to enhance reporting quality and efficiency.
* Maintain a controlled environment for internal and external reporting.
About The Candidate
* Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, ICAS, or equivalent).
* Strong understanding of accounting principles and IFRS.
* Attention to detail and accuracy.
* Proactive, accountable, and able to take initiative.
* Effective communicator with adaptable verbal and written skills.
