Job Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and representation to Gloucestershire County Council. Key duties include:
* Advising on legal matters related to council operations and governance.
* Representing the council in legal proceedings and negotiations.
* Ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
* Drafting and reviewing legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
* Collaborating with internal departments to address legal issues.
Person Specifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:
* Admitted Solicitor or Barrister with a valid practicing certificate.
* Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CIMA, CIPD).
* Proven experience in a legal advisory role, preferably within a public sector environment.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
* Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
* Valid UK driving license.
