Architect (3-5 yrs PQE)

The Role
Freehaus is looking for an exceptional candidate who is highly motivated and talented to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Architect with 3 - 5 years PQE, and has the ambition to play a key role in project delivery and grow into the role of senior architect. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of Revit and Microstation.
Salary: £41,921 - £44,187 per annum
Location: 12-18 Hoxton Street, London, N1 6NG.
Hours: This role on a full-time, permanent contract and is based on a 40 hour work week, from 9am-6pm. We offer flexible work options, such as variable start/end times.
Responsibilities
* To lead projects, commensurate with experience, from project inception through to completion across all RIBA work stages.
* To manage and delegate work to junior team members to support efficient delivery.
* To provide mentorship to junior members of the team and to support in professional development such as PEDR’s and Part III as applicable.
* To support the design delivery of projects, under the guidance of Senior Architects / Project Directors, including drawings, models, images, and material research.
* Lead and participate in internal design reviews, workshops, client and stakeholder meetings. Leading / Participating in document applications for planning and building regulation approvals.
* Document control for incoming material and preparation of documents for external issue.
* Operating in compliance with Freehaus procedures and standards.
* Assist in general practice and studio management responsibilities and contribute to practice marketing drives, such as competitions, bids and pitches, website updates and social media outputs.
* To help lead and develop improved standards in the production of project marketing material across all projects for at each design stage i.e. concept images for the website, models, CGI’s, a record of engagement events, site photos and as built photography.
* To contribute to the growing voice of the practice and the definition of our broader professional and civic responsibilities.
* Support the practice’s development of BIM capability and BIM Level 2 compliance. Support for studio regulatory and technical compliance (planning / building regulations)
* Support office standard relating to Quality Management and practice policies.
Qualities & skills
* Able to demonstrate good working knowledge of Revit, MicroStation, AutoCAD, Adobe CC and Microsoft Office Suite Knowledge of 3d software: Sketchup, Rhino advantageous
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team
* Excellent communication and able to build rapport with clients and key stakeholders
* Helpful, reliable and approachable with a positive attitude; sensitive to others
* Co-operative and receptive to feedback Self-motivated and manages day-to-day workload effectively
* Proactively seeks new opportunities to expand personal and professional development and willingly shares knowledge and skills with colleagues
