As a Band 5 Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in a multidisciplinary team, supporting children with a range of developmental and performance challenges. You’ll work in partnership with families, carers, and other professionals to enable self‑management, independence, and well‑being in children’s daily lives.
Base: Surrey‑wide office hubs with hybrid working flexibility.

Responsibilities
* Carry out high‑quality school‑based assessments as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT) for children and young people.
* Assess and provide tailored advice and interventions for children with diverse needs.
* Develop and implement individualised treatment plans in collaboration with families and carers.
* Recommend and support the use of specialist equipment for home and school settings.
* Liaise with professionals across health, education, social care, and voluntary sectors to ensure comprehensive care.
* Provide sensitive and effective communication with children and their families, adapting to their needs and circumstances.
* Contribute to team performance targets and participate in supervision, training, and team meetings.
* Assist with prioritising treatment goals for children with complex needs or terminal illnesses, ensuring appropriate discharge planning and referrals.
Ideal Candidate – Essential
* Knowledge/training in ASD strategies and interventions (e.g., PECS, SCERTS, ADOS).
* Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy.
* Registered and compliant with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
* Evidence of post‑graduate training or equivalent experience relevant to the specialty, such as:
o Child development – specialist courses or study on conditions that affect child development, autistic spectrum disorder, ADHD, neurodevelopmental conditions.
* Demonstrable post‑registration experience of working with children in a similar area of paediatric practice.
* Experience of using a range of assessments and treatment methods.
Ideal Candidate – Desirable
* Member of BAOT.
* Membership of a Special Interest Group.
* Clinical Educator qualification.
* Experience working in a community setting delivering children’s Occupational Therapy services.
Other Requirements
The successful applicant will need to be a car driver.
