The role
As a Network Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Your role will be key in the maintaining and the enhancing of assets rolled out in specific locations, for a 24 hour services to the MOD.
Day-to-day, you’ll provide engineering expertise for in-service support to installed IT/Network infrastructure as assigned by the project, as well as:
1. Attend meetings to discuss technical issues about the project and assist in contributing towards the continuing improvement of the project, maintaining a commitment to the highest standards, delivery timescales and reduction costs.
2. Conduct test, evaluation and acceptance activities as part of system commissioning exercises
3. Represent M-CEMA whenever required as the engineering subject matter expert.
4. Attend meetings, as required by M-CEMA, in relation to the network maintenance, changes and its capabilities.
5. Produce test specifications and procedures to support trials and acceptance activities including contribution to system Technical Publications.

This role is full time and based onsite at RAF Digby.
Essential experience of the Network Engineer:
6. Experience of IT systems and IT security will be required for this post.
7. Experience of working with Server Operating Systems, Network Firewalls and Switches (ASA, CISCO or Juniper), Oracle Solaris 11 Systems and Solaris Clusters
8. Demonstrable experience of successful stakeholder engagement (this role requires extensive interaction with Authority, Babcock and external subject matter experts)
9. Demonstrable evidence of using safe working practices.
Qualifications for the Network Engineer:
10. To be technically qualified to degree or HND/HNC level in an engineering discipline (Electrical/ Electronic/ Communications Engineering), and/or have significant experience working with Communication systems.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain DV (Direct Vetting) security clearance for this role.
