Maintaining strong governance and accountability is central to how we support parishes and deliver our diocesan strategy, Transforming Church Transforming Lives, at the Diocese of Guildford. This temporary Governance Administrator role offers a great opportunity to contribute to that mission and play a vital part in the efficient and effective running of key governance functions.
The Role
Working closely with the Head of Governance and Operations, you will coordinate meetings, support compliance processes, and help maintain accurate governance systems. Some of the key responsibilities include:
* Oversee and support the effective coordination of governance meetings and processes across the Diocese, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely follow-up actions.
* Manage meeting logistics, both in-person and online.
* Prepare agendas, papers and documentation in collaboration with stakeholders.
* Take and produce clear, accurate minutes and track follow-up actions.
* Maintain accurate records, ensuring documentation is properly stored.
* Provide additional administrative support to wider governance projects as required.
About You
We are looking for someone who is organised, reliable and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment. You will need to be confident managing multiple priorities and communicating with a range of stakeholders.
Requirements
* Previous administration experience, ideally in a charity or public sector organization.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Confident written and verbal communication skills and especially experience of taking minutes.
* The ability to manage deadlines and work with accuracy under pressure.
* Good IT skills, including Microsoft 365 and MS Teams.
* A high level of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive information.
