Job Title: Patrol Officer / Traffic Attendant Location: Various opportunities within Belfast / Ballymena / Coleraine / Portrush. Reports To: Parking & Enforcement Manager Positions available: Full-time / Part-time / Permanent / Casual Working Hours: Shift patterns varying over Seven days a week from 08:00 to 18:30, with occasional shifts until 21:00 during the summer season ________________________________________ Job Purpose: To patrol and monitor both private and council car parks, ensuring compliance with parking terms and conditions. The Patrol Officer / Traffic Attendant will provide a professional, visible presence to promote fair parking, deliver excellent customer service, and enforce regulations in accordance with company and client requirements. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities: Patrol assigned car parks to ensure vehicles are parked in accordance with site regulations and signage. Check that all customers have paid and displayed valid tickets/digitally or permits as required. Identify and record parking contraventions, issuing Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) or Parking Charge (PC) where appropriate. Provide accurate and detailed evidence to support any enforcement action taken with photographs and notes on a handheld device. Assist customers in using parking payment machines and provide guidance on parking regulations or the reasons PCNs or PCs have been issued. Support the operation of vehicle clamping and immobilisation where required, following company procedures and safety protocols. Patrol on foot for extended periods, often covering long distances and working outdoors in all weather conditions. Conduct patrols using a company vehicle where applicable, carrying out routine vehicle checks and ensuring safe driving practices. Ensure full company uniform is worn at all times and represent the company in a professional manner. Adhere strictly to designated start and finish times and follow all company attendance and timekeeping requirements. Comply with all company Health & Safety policies and report any hazards, incidents, or unsafe conditions immediately. Report faults, damages, or irregularities in car park operations to management promptly. Perform ad-hoc duties as required from time to time within competence and reason to meet operational and work demands. Uphold the companys standards of professionalism, integrity, and customer service at all times. ________________________________________ Skills and Experience Required: Previous experience in parking enforcement, security, or a customer service role (preferred but not essential). Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm, confident, and professional in challenging situations. Good attention to detail and accuracy in recording information. Physically fit and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Full UK driving licence (essential if vehicle patrols are required).
