Qualified Rehabilitation Specialist (Visual Impairment) – Essex Cares
Location: Chelmsford base with travel across Essex
Hours: Full-time (Mon–Fri, 9am–5pm) or part-time considered
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £38,000–£39,000 per year, pro rata for part-time
Responsibilities
* Provide assessment and rehabilitative training to customers with sensory impairments to advance or maintain their independence in all aspects of life.
* Work with adults with sensory impairments, applying best-practice approaches to support independence and everyday functioning.
* Identify objectives and outcomes, plan interventions, and manage day-to-day referrals and caseloads.
* Collaborate with other agencies and groups to enhance service delivery to sensory-impaired people.
Requirements
* Qualified Sensory Rehabilitation Specialist with a BTEC Level 4 Professional Diploma in Rehabilitation Studies (Visual Impairments) or Diploma of Higher Education in Rehabilitation Studies.
* Experience of working with adults with sensory impairments/needs.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures for sensory-impaired adults.
* Ability to make and implement decisions on day-to-day queries, referrals, and allocations in line with best practice.
* Ability to identify objectives and outcomes and determine means to achieve them.
* Ability to manage own caseload effectively and work collaboratively with other agencies.
* Valid driving licence and car, or access to a car and driver.
