Commissioning Engineer – Southwest & Wales
We are seeking a Commissioning Engineer to join our team in the Southwest and Wales region.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate within a team framework, adding your skills, innovations and ideas to our engineering team of project managers, project engineers and commissioning engineers
* Commission solutions as part of customer orders, incorporating software, graphics, installation and commissioning of building management control systems and third‑party integration
* Maintain and develop relationships with new and existing customers so we become their trusted expert
* Maintain and implement Schneider Electric Core Values
* Ensure a safe and healthy working environment for yourself and others, at office or site locations, operating to site requirements, project method statements and risk assessments, Schneider Electric Health & Safety Systems
* Set up servers and workstations on site and load software and licenses
* Pre‑commission control panels, field devices onto new and existing systems
* Commission controllers, networks and field devices into a complete control system
* Integrate third‑party systems onto existing BMS systems
* Write and commission controller software through Function Block Editor
* Configure and draw end‑user graphics to represent building controls
* Configure and commission graphics, document commissioning progress, site reports and assist with Operations and Maintenance manuals
* Handover and demonstrate the completed system to customer/consultant
* Manage installations and subcontractors with the support of Project Managers
* Support Schneider Electric and client support teams on new and existing projects
Qualifications
* A background in electrical engineering or related subject is preferable
* Experience in a similar technical role would be advantageous, on‑job training will be provided
* Experience working in a customer‑focused environment
* Experience in on‑site commissioning; site experience is preferred
* Experience in BMS software and graphics preferred; training provided on products
* Experience with EcoStruxture product or legacy products Sigma, Vista or Continuum advantageous
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Some accreditations in HVAC controls, BCIA or CIBSE advantageous
* Strong interest and passion in STEM (science, engineering, technology or mathematics)
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* Fluent English (written and verbal)
* Full driving licence
