Finance Assistant– London/Hybrid • Full time • 12 Month-Fixed term contract

Position Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant to join the team on a fixed term contract. In this role you will be an integral member of a dynamic and fast-paced team, taking ownership of the Accounts Payable process as the business goes through a period of transformation and you will be a key part of bringing new systems and processes online. Working closely with colleagues within the team, you will also have considerable opportunities to support our financial close processes and our internal treasury function.


Responsibilities

* AP – Manage the AP ledger to ensure all invoices are recorded and accurate cost reporting is completed in a timely manner. Produce up-to-date creditors listing for review by the Finance Director; ensure weekly payment runs are completed and creditors are paid timely. Responsible for statutory supplier payment reporting and for ensuring all processes are followed when setting up new suppliers.
* AR – Support the Operations teams to ensure monthly billings are raised timely, and review lease and sale agreements to ensure transactions are correctly recorded on RRPFs accounting system and contract management system.
* Cash Management and Reporting – Manage cash and bank accounts and debt book. Make debt service payments quarterly to meet debt agreements. Review bank accounts to ensure access is limited to authorized users, maintain bank mandates and signatory lists, and prepare rolling cash forecasts.
* Management Reporting – Support and improve month-end close process, drive improvement and automation of management accounts production. Produce timely monthly reconciliations and variance analysis, assist with budgets and forecasts in line with JV partners’ timetables, and review lease contracts and engine purchases for proper recording.
* Financial/Statutory Reporting – Act as day-to-day point of contact for auditors and respond to audit queries within deadlines.


Position Qualifications

* Qualified / Part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CA) with 2–4 years post-qualification experience in industry, particularly in managing AP ledgers.


Preferred Requirements

* Excellent accounting knowledge.
* Excellent Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Office skills; strong financial modelling skills are a plus.
* Excellent teamwork, communication, commercial astuteness, can-do attitude and attention to detail.
* Knowledge of Sun Systems, Hyperion, Salesforce, and accounts production software (e.g. Thomson Reuters AP) a plus.
* Leasing industry experience and/or interest in aviation and the airline industry also a plus.
* Experience designing and implementing new systems and processes is a plus.
