About the role:
justteachers are seeking a skilled and motivated Design and Technology Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in the Bradford area. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced DT specialist or a confident ECT to deliver high‑quality lessons across a range of DT disciplines. The position begins immediately and continues through to the end of the academic year.
Key Responsibilities:
* Teach engaging and practical Design & Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4
* Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons in line with curriculum requirements
* Support students in developing technical skills across materials, tools, and processes
* Ensure safe use of equipment and maintain a well‑organised workshop environment
* Assess, track, and report on pupil progress
* Promote creativity, problem‑solving, and independent thinking
* Maintain strong behaviour management and uphold safeguarding standards
* Contribute to departmental planning, resources, and wider school initiatives
Pre‑requisites:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Strong subject knowledge across DT specialisms (e.g., Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering, Graphics)
* Experience teaching DT in UK secondary schools
* A current enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
* Confident classroom management and excellent communication skills
* Two school based references
