Senior Educational Psychologist - SW18 2PUSalary: £57,171 – £72,186 per annumJob IntroductionSenior Educational Psychologist£57,171 – £72,186 per annum PermanentFull Time (36 hours)Wandsworth, LondonAre you a qualified and experienced Educational Psychologist keen to deliver a high-quality psychological service to children and young people? The Schools and Community Psychology Service (SCPS) is a team of Psychologists, Trainee Psychologists and Primary Mental Health Workers (PMHWs). As part of Wandsworth Council, you will join a key service contributing to work that aims to improve educational, social and mental health outcomes for children and young people living and being educated in Wandsworth. We have a strong traded presence with our local schools as well as strong links with other teams and university organisations.About the roleAs a Senior Educational Psychologist, you will include a small amount of schoolwork with both commissioned and statutory casework, supervision of qualified EPs and TEPs (if needed), various strategic roles within the team, as well as the wider Children’s Services department.Our Offer:Balanced and efficient workload – You will work within a team that maintains no EHCNA backlog and ensures statutory time remains at a manageable 30% of your overall allocation.Strong professional development and support – You will benefit from regular 1:1 and peer supervision, access to CPD and engagement in reflective practice, all within a psychologically informed department.Innovative and respected environment – You will be part of a dynamic, forward-thinking team with a great reputation, contributing to innovative practice and strategic work within Children’s Services.The SCPS is committed to the following current priority areas:Anti-racism and inclusion – Actively promoting diversity, reducing societal barriers, and integrating anti-racist practice into reflective spaces.Consultation-driven service delivery – Prioritising collaborative approaches with schools and refining report writing to increase meaningful face-to-face engagement.Values-led practice and team wellbeing – Embedding shared values in work with schools, fostering team collaboration, and ensuring wellbeing through annual surveys and a dedicated working group.Professional development and specialisation – Supporting EPs in individual areas of interest, offering protected CPD time, and maintaining high-quality psychological supervision.Balanced and strategic psychological work – Ensuring a mix of statutory, commissioned, and project work while championing psychology at all levels of strategic influence.Essential Qualifications, Skills and KnowledgeQualified and HCPC registered Educational Psychologist with proven experience of practice post EP qualification.Creative thinking and ideas for further developing and supporting a dynamic and multi-talented team.Interest in strategic thinking and contribution to cross-departmental partnership work, including strategic thinking in early years and developing quality statutory processes.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Experience in offering psychological supervision and commitment in developing professional skills and distributed leadership in others.Interest in applying psychology in team leadership within the context of a wider organisation.Interest in Early Years and the key role EPs can play in delivering support for families and practitioners working with children 0-5 years.
