We are looking for a Full-time Deputy Operational Manager to join our existing team.

Main duties of the job
To support the operational manager in all aspects of practice functionality, motivating and training staff, optimising efficiency and overall performance, ensuring the practice achieves its long-term strategic objectives in a safe and effective working environment.
The Deputy Practice Manager will focus on the day-to-day operability of the practice, championing high standards of care, quality of service provision, learning and development and promoting a positive working environment.
They will support the practice management team with continuous improvement activities and support the wider team to deliver high standards of patient care.

We have 9 GP partners, 5 Salaried GPs, and Advanced Nurse Practitioner, 4 Practice Nurses, 2 HCAs, 2 Phlebotomists and a superb group of highly committed and enthusiastic administrative and reception staff.
Job responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities of the deputy practice manager. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels.
The deputy practice manager is responsible for:
* a. Supporting the operational manager in the day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring staff achieve their primary responsibilities and the practice delivers a consistently high standard of care in a safe and effective manner
* b. Providing leadership and guidance to all practice staff
* c. Ensuring staff adhere to policy and procedure at all times
* d. Supporting the operational manager in the reviewing and updating of practice policies and procedures
* e. Leading on developing, implementing and embedding an effective practice training programme for all administrative staff liaising with external agencies when necessary and maintaining a training record
* f. Supporting the operational manager with managing the clinical system, ensuring IT security and IG compliance is adhered to at all times
* g. Guiding staff and developing searches and audits on the clinical system
* h. Reviewing and updating clinical templates ensuring they relate to current practice
* i. Monitoring group mailboxes, ensuring information is disseminated appropriately
* j. Assists in the achievement of quality and service indicators; QoF; Enhanced Services; Investment and Impact Fund; CQRS; PCN DES Contract
* k. Ensure the effective use Practice IT programmes
* l. Retain overall responsibility for the patient database overseeing new patient registrations and deduction processes
* m. Liaising with the operational manager and pharmacist team. Monitoring and disseminating information on safety alerts and other pertinent information
* n. Supporting the management team in the compilation of practice reports
* o. Maintaining the significant event database, providing advice to staff and briefing the team at meetings as required
* p. Identifying trends and devising solutions to reduce risk and repeated occurrences of significant events
* q. Being responsible for reporting events on SIRMS (External reporting system)
* r. Briefing clinicians on performance levels, advising actions to ensure high achievement across all QOF areas
* s. Supporting the operational manager with regular audit of activity for Emergency and unplanned Care utilising RAIDR to its full potential.
* t. Supporting the operational manager with performance management, annual appraisal staff development and disciplinary procedures
* v. Support in the running of the Patient Participation Group
Person Specification
Experience
* Experience of working with the general public
* Experience of working in a health care setting
* Experience of workforce planning / rota management
* Experience of leading multidisciplinary teams
* Experience of performance management, including appraisal writing, staff development and disciplinary procedures.
* Willingness to undertake all necessary training
* NHS / Primary Care General Practice experience
* Relevant health and safety experience
* Experience of producing agendas and minutes for meetings
Qualifications
* Good standard of education with excellent literacy and numeracy skills
* Leadership and / or Management Qualification
