Job Description


5-6 Month contract with a local authority

Summary
* The Educational Psychologist will collaborate with children, young people, families, and professionals to enhance educational outcomes and wellbeing. This role involves utilising psychological theories, assessments, and intervention strategies to support children and young people with additional needs, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practices in safeguarding, inclusion, and special educational needs.
Responsibilities
* Conduct psychological assessments and provide advice as part of the Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) process in accordance with statutory responsibilities.
* Implement individual and group interventions to support children and young people with learning, behavioural, social, and emotional needs.
* Offer consultation, training, and guidance to teachers, SENCOs, and school staff on strategies to improve learning outcomes and inclusion.
* Engage and support parents and carers throughout the assessment and intervention process.
Qualifications
* Doctorate (or equivalent) in Educational Psychology recognized by the British Psychological Society (BPS).
* Registration as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
* Membership of the Division of Educational and Child Psychology (DECP) is desirable.
Experience
* Proven post-qualification experience as an Educational Psychologist within a school, local authority, or children’s services setting.
* Experience in conducting a range of psychological assessments and producing high-quality reports.
* Evidence of ongoing professional development and commitment to continuing professional education.
Additional Information
* Working hours: 01 hours per week
* The role is outside IR35.
* The role requires DBS.
