Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Head Chef to work in our fast paced cafe environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring the delivery of exceptional food quality, maintaining high standards of food safety, and fostering a positive team environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise. The Head Chef will play a pivotal role in menu development, and maintaining excellent customer satisfaction, whilst training will be given for promotional prospects to become Assistant Manager.
Duties
* Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency, quality, and presentation standards are met
* Manage food production schedules to optimise efficiency and minimise waste
* Ensure strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all kitchen activities
* Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and manage inventory to ensure availability of ingredients
* Collaborate with front-of-house staff to coordinate service times and special events
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in compliance with health and safety legislation
* Assist in serving customers during busy periods when necessary
Experience
* Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment, ideally in a restaurant or hospitality setting
* Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food production and food preparation techniques
* Solid knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
* Experience in restaurant operations, including menu planning, stock control, and customer service
* Familiarity with hospitality industry practices such as serving guests and managing high-pressure situations
* Previous leadership roles as Head Chef or Sous Chef are highly desirable

Pay: £312.50-£442.80 per week
