Community support worker

Offer description

Are you caring, patient, and passionate about making a difference? Positive Steps is looking for kind, dedicated Support Workers to join our friendly team in the Yelverton/Dousland area. You'll be supporting one wonderful individual to live independently, enjoy their favourite activities, and make every day meaningful.

* Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri & Sat – 10:00am – 16:00pm
* Wed – 14:00pm – 20:00pm

About the Role:

You'll be part of a small, supportive team working closely with one individual who has autism, learning disabilities, and PTSD. Your support will help them feel confident, valued, and connected — whether that's by:

* Getting out and about in the local community and attending appointments or clubs
* Encouraging and joining in with the things they love — like Star Wars, Comic Con, swimming, trips to the cinema, and cooking

This role is about so much more than practical support — it's about building trust, creating positive routines, and helping someone enjoy the things that matter most to them.

What We're Looking For:

* Caring and confident female and male support workers who are reliable and understanding
* Drivers with a full UK driving licence (essential)
* Previous experience supporting people with autism, learning disabilities, or PTSD (essential)
* Someone who is patient, enjoys shared interests, and is excited to make a real difference

Why Join Positive Steps?

* Be part of a compassionate, supportive team
* Help someone grow in confidence and independence
* Receive ongoing training and opportunities to develop your skills

If you're someone who enjoys connecting with people, shares interests like Star Wars, cinema, or swimming, and wants a role where you can truly make a difference — we'd love to hear from you.
