We have a vacancy for an apprentice trained CNC Turner to join our team and work in the Cells area of our manufacturing facility in Rotherham. Hours of work This position is 38 hours per week on a rotating 2-shift system of earlies and lates, Monday - Friday (38 hours) and shift allowance is paid on the late shift. The Company operates shift patterns as set out below. The Company reserves the right to allocate you to any of these patterns or to any other pattern of hours of working (including day hours) having given you reasonable notice. The hours of work at Rotherham vary according to the Shift you are allocated: A SHIFT: (Earlies): are from 6 am to 2 pm Monday to Friday (Lates) 2 pm to 11pm Monday to Thursday B SHIFT (Earlies): are from 6 am to 2 pm Monday to Thursday and from 6 am to 12 pm on a Friday. (Lates) 2 pm to 12am Monday to Wednesday and from 2 pm to 10 pm on a Thursday. A five-day working week is in operation. Main Responsibilities The main responsibilities of the CNC Turner be to produce high-quality precision parts in the high-volume CNC section according to specifications and engineering drawings, ensuring on-time delivery of products while maintaining high levels of efficiency and minimising downtime. The successful candidate will have solid CNC Turning experience, with the ability to Set and Operate. Key Responsibilities of the CNC Turner Setter: To work in the high-volume CNC section in accordance with the work to list on a rotating shift basis. liaising with the CNC machine setters, Set and operate a range of CNC Turning machines Loading and unloading the machines, Using bench slitters, Counting, weighing and packing parts. Maintain a clean and safe work environment Manage your own work Keep inline within company health and safety procedure To carry out additional duties as requested by department Production Supervisor. Conduct quality checks of work in progress using CMM systems to generate quality reports. What we need from you! Previous experience within a CNC Turning position Setting and Operating experience Programming experience would be advantageous MUST have a minimum of 4 years’ experience with setting and operating CNC Mills. Must have knowledge of at least one of the following controls: Fanuc and Heidenheim Previous experience in engineering production Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings and interpret the information to produce a part. Apprentice trained with relevant qualification is desired GCSE or equivalent at grade C or above in Maths & English HSQE Behaviours: To always ensure that their acts or omissions do not present a danger to themselves, anyone else, the environment or the safe operation of any plant or equipment To intervene and report any defect in equipment or practice or any dangerous circumstance or event which could affect HSQE performance To comply with all HSQE customer and company requirements To stay updated on industry advancements, new technologies, and best practices in CNC turning, sharing knowledge with the team and fostering a culture of continuous learning Behaviours: Good team and interpersonal skills Effective communication skills Effective time management, both in general timekeeping and overseeing of individual and multiple jobs Be professional – loyal to the organization, take personal responsibility What we offer in r eturn: A starting salary of £35k (including shift allowance and paid breaks).
