Purpose
Supporting Operations and Maintenance (O&M) activities of ScottishPower Renewables' Onshore Wind, Solar, and Battery Storage business, you will support Development, Project Delivery, and Operational staff in achieving business goals.
Providing technical support to O&M field teams on emerging and ongoing technical issues, including technical upgrades and improvement projects, you will assist the Lead Engineer in reviewing design proposals and other matters on behalf of the O&M field team.
Providing technical advice, primarily Control and Instrumentation, you will assist the Lead C&I Engineer with management, generation, and review of Contractors' proposals, including managing and supervising Consultants and Contractors.
You will influence O&M requirements in new control system design of emerging technologies, O&M user requirements of Balance of Plant control systems, and infrastructure with their Instrumentation, Control, and Automation interfaces.
This position requires mobility across operational sites in the UK as needed for planning and technical interventions/projects.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Lead Engineer with logging, categorising, and providing solutions to Instrumentation, Control, and Automation technical issues, participating in identifying, specifying, and assessing solutions to O&M technical challenges, contributing to technical schedules for turbine service and maintenance agreements.
* Participate in the technical review of tenders for service and maintenance, major component installation, and supply chain contracts, delivering expert technical services supporting renewable generation projects and the Control & Instrumentation assets management plan.
* Liaise with external suppliers and Contractors to ensure delivery of inspection and technical tasks to ScottishPower Renewables standards, adhering to technical strategies and contributing to continuous improvement, risk management, and project impacts.
* Support project delivery to mitigate risks from the business risk register and build strong technical relationships with Iberdrola Global Technical Services Engineers to ensure technical excellence.
What you'll bring
* Degree qualification or working towards in Electrical / Instrumentation and Control or related field; relevant experience considered in lieu of formal qualifications, with potential to achieve Chartered Engineering status.
* Experience in Renewables / Power Generation industry, project management skills, and knowledge of industry standards, design, installation codes, and regulations.
* Proven track record in C&I projects, technical support, IT literacy, and proficiency with MS Office and project management software.
* Knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation related to engineering projects, including LV electrical designs and management of C&I engineering projects.
* Full driving license and willingness to work away from the base location as required.
