Overview
Dental Receptionist Apprenticeship (Customer Service) - Market Harborough. The role involves being the first point of contact with patients, presenting a professional appearance and delivering high standards of customer care to set the tone for the patient visit. The receptionist can influence the atmosphere of the waiting room and the overall wellbeing of the practice.
Responsibilities
* Ensure the patient journey is adhered to at all times, including attention to the exterior and interior of the building.
* Welcome patients in person or by telephone, determine the reason for their visit, and communicate waiting times in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
* Acknowledge and sign in visitors and contractors, manage the visitors book.
* Book and amend appointments, answer the phone, and update patient records.
* Answer the telephone promptly and use the prescribed procedures; manage voicemail and return calls as required.
* Monitor and respond to reception emails; protect patient information on the electronic database; ensure appointments are booked before patients leave and maintain an efficient appointment system.
* Communicate upcoming appointments to patients, including courtesy calls; maintain full appointment books where possible.
* Ensure that all treatment plans, medical histories, and PR forms are signed at the relevant appointments; maintain patient confidentiality.
* Promote available dental services and products; build strong working relationships with the Clinical and Practice teams; participate in smooth practice operation.
* Be flexible to work at other practice locations as required; uphold Riverdale Values (Be The Best We Can Be, Do The Right Thing & Support Each Other).
Administrative duties
* Keep the reception area and waiting room clean and tidy.
* Record lab work and send out reminders or “Failed to attend” letters as needed.
* Record and send out patient recalls; manage stock and general reception administration.
* Ensure NHS and private forms are completed; file and store patient records securely and efficiently.
* Print day sheets and prepare records for the next day; ensure toilets are clean and stocked; log out of systems when leaving the desk; attend practice meetings.

Training and Progression
On completion of this 12-month apprenticeship you will gain the Customer Service Practitioner Level 2 Apprenticeship.
