St Dominic-Brookfield-DIRECTOR of STUDENT SUPPORT
This job involves supporting student development, fostering positive classroom environments, and collaborating with staff to promote a respectful, inclusive school culture rooted in the Catholic faith.
Key Responsibilities
1. Behavioral Support & Positive Classroom Culture: Support students’ behavioral development and work with teachers to foster positive classroom environments and a school-wide culture of respect, inclusivity, and community, rooted in the Catholic faith.
2. Social-Emotional Development Instruction: Teach monthly classes to students in grades K-8 on social-emotional topics, promoting friendship, kindness, and personal growth within a Catholic framework. Continue development in one-on-one and small group settings as needed.
3. Family and Student Support: Provide guidance to students and families on social-emotional development, friendships, conflict resolution, and related topics.
4. Oversee Learning Support Programs & Collaboration: Lead learning support initiatives, ensure alignment with student needs, and collaborate with families and teachers to develop and implement individualized learning plans.
5. Extracurricular Program Liaison: Coordinate between the school and extracurricular activities to ensure student support is integrated across all programs.
6. Leadership Team Participation: Work with the principal and leadership team to report on support initiatives and develop strategies for social-emotional learning and academic support.
7. Professional Development: Create and deliver training for staff on student support, differentiation, and social-emotional strategies.
Qualifications
* Strong understanding of student development across academic, behavioral, and social-emotional domains.
* Effective collaboration with students with diverse learning needs.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with families, students, and staff.
* Expertise in social-emotional learning and behavioral support strategies.
* Collaborative mindset committed to fostering a positive school culture rooted in Catholic values.
* Willingness to develop solutions aligned with Catholic principles and concern for student well-being.
* Ability to guide staff and develop training programs.
Education & Experience
* Master’s degree in Leadership, Curriculum & Instruction, Special Education, School Psychology, or related field preferred.
* Experience in educational leadership, student support, counseling, or teaching K-8.
* Knowledge of Catholic education principles and fostering a respectful learning environment.
