CNC Miller Programmer

About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled CNC Miller Programmer to join their expanding precision engineering team. The role involves programming, setting, and operating CNC milling machines to produce high‑accuracy components for a variety of sectors. This position is ideal for someone who prides themselves on precision, efficiency, and high‑quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
* Program, set, and operate CNC milling machines using Fanuc controls
* Create, edit, and optimise CNC programs to meet production requirements
* Select suitable tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters
* Carry out first‑off inspections and ensure all work meets tight tolerances
* Diagnose machining issues and implement process improvements
* Work collaboratively with engineering, quality, and production teams
* Maintain a safe, organised, and compliant work environment
Requirements
* Proven experience as a CNC Miller with strong programming ability
* Excellent understanding of machining principles, materials, and tooling
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
* Competence in using precision measuring equipment
* High attention to detail with strong problem‑solving skills
* Ability to work independently and meet production targets
Desirable Skills
* Experience with 4‑axis or 5‑axis CNC milling
* Knowledge of CAD/CAM software
* Background in low‑volume, high‑precision manufacturing
* Familiarity with continuous improvement practices
