GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Sports Coach to work across a range of mainstream and SEN schools in the Grimsby area. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to inspire pupils through sport, support physical development, and contribute to inclusive learning environments.
Role Overview
As a Sports Coach, you will lead PE sessions and sports-based interventions tailored to the needs of diverse student groups, including pupils with additional needs. You will play a vital role in encouraging teamwork, resilience, and healthy habits, both in structured lessons and extra-curricular activities.
Role Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality PE lessons and sports coaching to pupils of varying abilities.
* Adapt activities to meet the needs of students with SEN.
* Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and participation through sport.
* Support pupils’ emotional and social development through team-based activities.
* Liaise with teaching and support staff to ensure consistency in delivery.
* Uphold school values and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment.
Candidate Requirements
* Previous experience as a Sports Coach in school or youth settings.
* Knowledge of strategies to support students with additional needs.
* A proactive, positive, and patient approach.
* Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
* Relevant sports qualifications or a background in physical education desirable.
* Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
