We are seeking a proactive and driven Business Development / Bid Manager to lead our efforts in securing new work and building strategic client relationships. This role will be business developmentfocused, involving time both in and out of the office meeting potential clients, identifying opportunities, and shaping our market presence. Youll lead the preparation of compelling bids and proposals that reflect our design excellence, technical strength, and sustainability ethos. Actively seek and track new business leads through research, networking, and industry events. Develop and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients, representing the studio with confidence and professionalism. Work closely with technical teams to craft tailored, compelling proposals that align with client needs and showcase our capabilities. Ensure all submissions reflect Henriksen Studios tone, visual identity, and commitment to excellence. Maintain and enhance a library of bid content, templates, and case studies for efficiency and brand consistency. Support pipeline tracking, bid/no-bid decisions, and follow-up on submission outcomes to improve future performance. Stay informed on market trends, client priorities, and competitor activity to help shape business development strategy. Attend and participate in key industry events and conferences to expand Henriksen Studios network and visibility. Your Profile A commercially minded, proactive professional with a strong track record in business development and bid managementideally within the engineering, construction, or built environment sectors. You enjoy meeting people, building relationships, and turning opportunities into meaningful partnerships. Equally confident in the office and out in front of clients, you combine strategic thinking with strong communication skills. Demonstrated experience in business development and managing the full bid lifecyclefrom identifying opportunities through to producing high-quality, client-focused submissions. Ideally degree-educated in a relevant field (e.g. business, marketing, construction, or engineering), or able to demonstrate equivalent experience in a similar role Confident networker who builds and maintains relationships with new and existing clients, consultants, and key industry stakeholders. Strong understanding of the engineering or construction sectors, with the ability to tailor proposals that align with client needs and showcase technical capability. Skilled in writing, editing, and assembling persuasive, visually aligned proposals that reflect our brand and values. Organised and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple deadlines while coordinating input from technical teams. Comfortable representing the business at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to support growth and visibility. Experience maintaining a library of bid content, templates, and tools for improved efficiency and consistency.
