Axon Moore are delighted to be working exclusively with a rapidly growing business to recruit a Payroll Manager. This is a newly created role, offering the opportunity to lead and develop a small team of three Payroll Assistants, while bringing valuable expertise to support and enhance the organisation’s payroll function.
A generous starting salary is on offer up to £50,000, and the business also boasts a great working culture with hybrid and flexible working also on offer.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Oversee the full end-to-end payroll process for multiple payrolls across Group, ensuring timely and accurate payment of salaries, bonuses, and deductions
Management and development of a small team of payroll assistants
Ensuring compliance with Payroll and Tax legislation
Management of HMRC matters related to payroll
Managing compliance of payroll policies, procedures and regulations
Ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing
Yearly preparation and timely reporting to HMRC, including RTI submissions, P60s and P11Ds
Ad hoc and ongoing staffing analysis
Development and management of payroll system
Liaise with auditors and manage payroll tax audits
Support the implementation of new payroll-related schemes or legislative changes
Contribute to ad-hoc finance and HR projects
Undertake other payroll-related admin duties as required to support the wider finance team
Required Skills and Experience:
CIPP qualified (preferred but not essential)
Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, pension schemes and HMRC requirements
Great attention to detail and analytical skills
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organisational and multi-tasking abilities
Good IT, Excel and systems knowledge
Able to quickly adapt to change
Work efficiently towards meeting deadlines
