STARS is in an exciting stage of continued development and expansion. We are seeking a highly skilled, enthusiastic and dedicated teacher of English to join our inspiring team. We are a Medical PRU committed to ‘Empowering every child to engage with education.’
This is more than just a teaching job—it’s an opportunity to be a pivotal part of a student's journey back to their mainstream school after a significant and often challenging medical absence. You will be helping students re-engage with learning, regain their confidence, and transition smoothly back into a full-time school environment.
What You'll Be Doing
•Teaching: Teaching high quality lessons across Key stage 3 and 4 that inspire pupils to engage with education.
•Reintegration focus: Working with students who have been out of mainstream education for long periods due to medical reasons, helping them bridge the gap and prepare for a successful return.
•Flexible delivery: Support students to engage in lessons and adapt your approach to meet the diverse needs of students at different stages of their recovery.
•Multi-site travel: Being comfortable and willing to travel between various sites as required to best support our students in their journey to reintegrate back into mainstream.
•Collaborative practice: Working closely with a range of professionals, including medical staff, therapists, educational psychologists, social workers, and mainstream school staff, to ensure a holistic and coordinated approach to student well-being and education.
•Innovation: Contributing to our ongoing mission to re-think our approach to engaging children and teaching at STARS, bringing fresh ideas and innovative methods to the classroom.
Why STARS?
•No day will ever be the same: Experience a dynamic, varied, and challenging environment where your teaching skills will be tested and rewarded daily.
•Real impact: This is a chance to have a profound impact on the life and future of every student you work with, helping them to overcome significant barriers to education.
•Professional growth: An opportunity to develop specialist skills in a highly complex and rewarding area of education, working alongside experienced, dedicated professionals.
•Supportive environment: Join a team that values creativity, collaboration, and a compassionate approach to education.
