The Opportunity Caterpillar is looking for a Senior International Tax Manager to join a world-class Global Tax department, providing technical analysis across complex, material tax matters in a dynamic, multinational environment. This is a senior individual‑contributor role reporting to the EAME Tax Director, on an evolving business model that taps on your experience in the Big 4 or in industry. What You Will Do: In this role, you will apply your international tax advisory expertise to: support business expansion in a wide jurisdictional base, translate technical rules into clear, commercially grounded advice for stakeholders, M&A and restructuring, tax audit strategy and support, and assess the impact of evolving legislation. Given Caterpillar’s global footprint and growth ambitions, professionals with broad international tax experience in the Big 4 and/or in-house roles who are comfortable operating in fast-paced environments will find themselves ideally suited to this role. Experience in emerging markets will be useful in this role. This is a role for an experienced technical expert who enjoys solving complex problems and building trusted partnerships within global tax and wider business. What You Will Have: Tax Advisory: Advising business partners on complex international tax scenarios with an enterprise viewpoint, leveraging experience across broad jurisdictions with a deep knowledge of international tax concepts in M&A, business expansion and tax audit management. Tax Operations: Reviewing complex tax compliance utilizing technical rules and business facts. Effective Communications: Understanding effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with colleagues from different departments and cultures; and Fluency in English is essential; additional languages would be an advantage. Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations. Influencing Through Expertise: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to use these to deepen own expertise to develop solutions that support the enterprise strategy. Research Analysis: Able to conduct research on complex fact patterns and can interpret and evaluate research to support informed decision-making. Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess the broader environment when structuring advice and solutions. What sets you apart: Recognized accounting or tax qualification. Significant broad international tax experience in either practice or industry, including experience managing cross-border tax structuring projects or advisory. Experience in emerging markets Confident self-starter with the ability to work independently in a demanding, fast-paced environment whilst contributing to the overarching strategic direction of the department.
