Founding Software Engineer – Venture-Backed DeepTech Startup
Location: On-site, 5 days per week
Experience: 2+ years through to Senior/Staff level
Tech Stack: Python, Java, C#, or similar object-oriented languages
We're partnering with a rapidly growing DeepTech startup that is building category-defining technology and already delivering value to major customers across the globe. Having recently raised over $20M in Series A funding, the business is entering an exciting scale-up phase with ambitious growth plans and a strong commercial foundation.
With a team of around 10–15 highly talented engineers, they are looking to double, potentially triple, engineering headcount over the next 12 months. This presents a rare opportunity to join at an early stage and play a significant role in shaping both the product and the future of the company.

The Role
As a Founding Software Engineer, you'll be instrumental in building and scaling the company's core product. You'll work directly with founders and a world-class engineering team to solve complex technical challenges, deliver impactful features, and help establish the foundations for long-term success.
Key responsibilities include:
* Designing, building, and shipping high-quality software.
* Developing new product features from concept through to production.
* Contributing to architecture and technical strategy decisions.
* Working closely with product and leadership teams to influence roadmap and priorities.
* Taking ownership of projects with real business impact.
* Helping define engineering culture and best practices as the team grows.
What They're Looking For
* First-class degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or another STEM discipline.
* Strong software engineering fundamentals.
* Experience with Python, Java, C#, or similar programming languages.
* A passion for building products and solving difficult technical problems.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills.
* Desire to work in a fast-paced, high-performance startup environment.
The priority is hiring Senior and Staff Engineers, but the team is also open to exceptional candidates with 2+ years of industry experience.
Working Environment
The company works five days per week in the office. Given the complexity of the technology, speed of execution, and highly collaborative nature of the team, they strongly believe in working together in person to maximise learning, innovation, and decision-making.
