Scenic Deputy Draughtsperson (Event Production)

£45,000 - £55,000 plus overtime

The Role
As Scenic Deputy Draughtsman, you'll work closely with our Senior Draughtsman and wider design department to prepare detailed drawings for scenic construction and event fabrication. You'll bridge the gap between creative design and workshop production - helping ensure every scenic element is technically sound, practical, and delivered to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in producing accurate 2D and 3D drawings for scenic builds, staging, and installations
Develop and amend technical drawing packages from designer concepts
Work collaboratively with the Senior Draughtsman, project managers, and workshop teams
Help resolve design and construction challenges through technical input
Maintain clear drawing files, version control, and documentation
Support the drafting team in upholding design and safety standards
Essential Skills & Experience:
2-4 years' experience in scenic, theatre, or event draughting
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Vectorworks, or SketchUp
Understanding of scenic construction methods and materials
Ability to read and interpret design drawings
A collaborative, proactive attitude and strong problem-solving ability
Awareness of health & safety and structural considerations (preferred)
