We operate from a single Manchester office where a close-knit team of around 20 engineers work collaboratively across a broad range of projects. Our core sectors include commercial, industrial, retail, healthcare, leisure, residential and pharmaceutical environments, serving both public and private clients throughout the UK.
Role: Electrical Design Engineer
Location: Manchester (office-based with occasional project site visits)
Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Key Responsibilities
As an Electrical Design Engineer you will be expected to:
* Prepare detailed electrical system designs for building services projects, including power distribution, lighting, earthing, fire alarm, emergency lighting and communications systems.
* Lead electrical engineering aspects from concept through to detailed design and technical completion.
* Coordinate designs with other disciplines (mechanical, structural, architectural) to ensure fully integrated solutions.
* Carry out technical calculations, load assessments and compliance checks with relevant UK standards and building regulations.
* Produce and review technical drawings, specifications and schedules.
* Liaise with clients, project teams and stakeholders throughout the design process.
* Support junior engineers and contribute to quality assurance procedures.
* Contribute to continuous improvement of electrical design processes and standards.
Required Skills & Experience
* Chartered or working towards Chartered status (e.g. IEng/CEng) with relevant professional membership (e.g. CIBSE, IET).
* Proven experience in electrical building services design within a consultancy environment.
* Strong technical knowledge of UK electrical engineering standards, building services systems and compliance requirements.
* Competence in engineering design software and modelling tools relevant to electrical services.
* Excellent communication, organisational and team working skills.
* Ability to manage workload and deliver to deadlines in a busy office environment.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving with attention to detail and commercial awareness.
* Previous exposure to BIM workflows or Revit MEP.
* Experience working across multiple sectors such as healthcare, retail, commercial and industrial projects.
* An interest in sustainable design practices and low-carbon electrical solutions.
