The role
As a Assistant Project Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Your impact will be felt across our integrated project teams and the wider UK defence ecosystem, while you build project leadership skills that accelerate your career.
Day-to-day, you’ll help orchestrate complex, high impact defence engineering projects, balancing time, cost, quality and risk to keep delivery on track.
1. Plan and control schedules, costs and scope to meet programme milestones.
2. Manage risks, issues and opportunities, driving proactive mitigation.
3. Coordinate procurement and supplier activities to support delivery momentum.
4. Collaborate with stakeholders across Mission Systems and partner teams to align on objectives.
5. Report progress clearly and consistently, enabling informed decisions.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Assistant Project Manager
6. Experience working in a project management environment.
7. Excellent stakeholder management and relationship building skills.
8. Confident collaborator with a track record of partnership working.
9. Comfortable with tight deadlines, plans and schedules.
10. Adaptable and curious, with drive to make a positive impact every day.
