Job Description HR Director About the Role We’re partnering with a growing logistics organisation to appoint a strategic, forward‑thinking HR Director who will lead the people agenda and shape the company’s long‑term direction. We are looking for a senior leader who has excellent leadership skills. You will sit on the senior leadership team and report directly to the MD. Your role will drive the evolution of the HR function, strengthen organisational capability, and ensure culture, talent, and people processes fully support ambitious growth plans. About the firm This UK logistics business currently has a £400 million t/o and has 1000 employees. Hybrid working will be on offer, 3 days a week in the office. About the role Strategic Leadership Partner with senior management to align HR strategy with overall business objectives. Lead workforce planning, skills analysis, and long‑term organisational development initiatives. Identify capability gaps and develop forward‑looking people plans. Talent Management Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies to attract and retain high‑quality talent. Lead succession planning, career development pathways, and internal mobility programmes. Employee Relations Foster a positive, inclusive, and high‑performance culture. Manage employee relations, conflict resolution, and grievance processes. Promote open communication and strong employee engagement. Compliance & Governance Ensure full compliance with employment legislation and regulatory requirements. Oversee policies relating to health & safety, equality, diversity & inclusion, and data protection. Performance Management Implement and refine performance management frameworks. Support managers with goal‑setting, appraisals, and continuous feedback processes. Drive a culture of accountability and development. Compensation & Benefits Design and manage competitive reward, benefits, and incentive programmes. Conduct salary benchmarking and ensure fair, market‑aligned compensation structures. Learning & Development Lead the design and delivery of training programmes to enhance skills and capability. Identify organisational training needs and evaluate programme effectiveness. Leadership & Team Development Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to the HR team. Build a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth. Cross‑Functional Collaboration Work closely with finance on budgeting and workforce planning. Partner with operations to support organisational change. Collaborate with marketing on employer branding and internal communications. Environmental & Organisational Planning Develop and implement environmental policies to minimise organisational impact. Apply structured planning tools to deliver controlled, timely change initiatives. Reporting & Analytics Prepare and present monthly reports for senior leadership on HR performance, workforce insights, and strategic recommendations. Use data and metrics to inform decision‑making and improve HR processes.
