Our client is a leading engineering solutions provider delivering bespoke automation and control systems across multiple industries.
Due to continued growth and new project wins across the UK, our client is now looking to expand their maintenance engineering division and seek an experienced Maintenance Engineer to take ownership of servicing, maintenance, installation, and repair work on customer sites.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong experience in control systems engineering (PLC/SCADA).
What's involved for the Maintenance Engineer …
* Schedule and perform routine maintenance and repair on clients' control systems and components in line with maintenance plans and standard procedures.
* Travel throughout the UK to carry out these planned maintenance tasks on-site.
* Proactively identify and address potential faults or defects to avoid system downtime.
* Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of maintenance activities, including logs, checklists, and reports.
* Offer technical assistance to clients, addressing queries and resolving system issues quickly to reduce operational interruptions.
* Use appropriate diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and troubleshoot faults in control systems.
* Detect and assess complex issues in system controls using systematic diagnostic procedures and tools.
* Apply effective fault-finding methods to resolve technical issues efficiently.
* Confirm that all required components are correctly specified and ordered prior to system build and installation.
* Perform inspections and tests to ensure systems meet performance and functionality standards.
What you'll need…
* Strong background in industrial electrical or automation engineering.
* Proven experience with control systems including PLCs, SCADA, and HMIs.
* Ability to design and interpret electrical schematics and process control diagrams.
* Familiarity with standards and regulations in industrial controls.
* Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
* Ability to travel to customer sites as required.
