Overview
Temporary maternity cover until 26 June 2026. Days of work: Monday - Friday. To start 20 October 2025. Campie Primary School is located in Musselburgh, East Lothian. The main building opened in 1919 and contains fourteen classrooms and a gym hall. An open-plan area (currently our nursery), a dining room and a school kitchen opened in 1973. A library, a computer suite, a lift, a third staircase and six new classrooms were added subsequently. The team consists of a HT, 2x DHTs, 1x PT and fourteen classes from P1-P7. We are looking for an enthusiastic and nurturing class teacher to join our team as a P6 teacher at Campie.
Job Details
* To undertake class-teaching duties
* Teach assigned classes together with associated preparation and correction
* Develop the school curriculum
* Assess, record and report on the work of pupils
* Prepare pupils for examinations and assist with their administration
* Provide advice and guidance to pupils on issues related to their education
* Promote and safeguard the health, welfare and safety of pupils
* Work in partnership with parents, support staff and other professionals
* Undertake appropriate and agreed Career Long Professional Development (CLPL)
* Participate in issues related to school planning, raising achievement and individual review
* Contribute towards good order and the wider needs of the school

Pay and Start Information
Pay arrangements for those starting after the first day of the school session: In accordance with Teachers Conditions of Service (SNCT - Appendix 2.19), teachers who commence employment after the first day of the school session will have their salary recalculated for the remainder of the school year (1 August to 31 July). A calculation will be carried out upon commencement and leave and pay will be adjusted. Further information will be provided if applicable.
