Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (ASC/ADHD) – Support That Goes Beyond the Classroom

Salary: £89–£108 per day
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM

We’re working with a brilliant specialist school in Newcastle that supports children with autism and physical disabilities. They’re looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team and help create a learning environment that’s safe, supportive, and genuinely joyful.
This is the kind of role where no two days are the same—but every day matters.

Your role will include:
* Providing 1:1 and small group support for children with ASC, ADHD, and physical needs
* Helping to implement IEPs and adapting learning materials to suit individual needs
* Supporting social development and positive behaviour strategies
* Assisting with personal care and using the school’s hydropool to support sensory and physical development
* Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other TAs as part of a caring, collaborative team

What we’re looking for:
* Experience supporting children with autism and ADHD (personal experience welcome!)
* Someone patient, nurturing, and great at reading the room
* Excellent teamwork and communication skills
* Confidence to support physical needs and personal care with sensitivity and professionalism

Nice to have:
* Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or Nursery Nurse equivalent)
* Previous experience in a school or nursery setting

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
