Offer description

The Diocese of York is the Church of England between the Rivers Humber and Tees, and from the Yorkshire coast westwards to around the A1. We are seeking to Live Christ’s Story (LCS) by becoming more like Christ, reaching people we currently don’t, growing churches of missionary disciples, and transforming our finances and structures. We’re looking for a proactive and highly organised Administrative Assistant to play a key role in helping us deliver a high standard of property and asset management across the diocese.
About the Role Key Responsibilities
* Maintain and update property records using our Propman system
* Support scheduling of maintenance, inspections, and clergy housing moves
* Assist with invoice processing, council tax administration, and insurance reporting
* Prepare meeting papers and take minutes for quarterly Archdeaconry meetings
* Provide administrative support for grant applications and trust management
* Work collaboratively with the wider diocesan administrative team
About You We’re looking for someone who is:
* Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
* Confident with data entry, record keeping, and scheduling
* A good communicator with strong customer service skills
* Able to manage multiple priorities and work independently
* Comfortable working with IT systems, including databases
Why Join Us? You’ll be part of a small, supportive team committed to serving the Church’s mission through high-quality property stewardship. Based at our Clifton Moor office in York, this is a great opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the work of the Diocese in a varied administrative role. We are committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion and welcome applications from disabled candidates and those from UKME heritage as these groups are under-represented in our staff. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. All employees are expected to share this commitment. You will be required to undertake safeguarding training, and this role may be subject to a DBS check. Only fully completed applications through Pathways will be accepted; applicants must have the right to work in the UK. Closing date: Thursday, 31 July 2025 Interviews: Thursday, 7 August 2025 in York
