SEN Teaching Assistant Halifax Full| Term Time Only | Permanent/Long Location: Halifax Start Date: ASAP or September 2026 (flexible) About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and forwardschool in Halifax. You will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils with a range of special educational needsincluding autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and social, emotional & mental health difficulties. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is patient, proactive, and passionate about helping young people thrive academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 and smallsupport for pupils with SEN Adapt learning materials and activities to meet individual needs Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, accessible lessons Support pupils with emotional regulation, communication, and social skills Contribute to EHCP reviews and liaise with external support professionals Create a safe, positive and inclusive classroom environment What Were Looking For Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school, residential, care, tutoring or voluntary settings welcomed) A calm, patient and nurturing approach Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to build positive and trusting relationships A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs Level 2/3 TA qualification is beneficial but not essential What the School Offers A supportive team and approachable senior leadership Ongoing professional development and SEN training Opportunities to progress into HLTA, Pastoral, or SEN-specific roles A friendly, inclusive school community Competitive pay based on experience How to Apply If youre enthusiastic about making a difference and would love to support children with additional needs, wed love to hear from you.
