YMCA Norfolk is expanding its Supported Lodgings programmea vital housing initiative that offers safe, nurturing homes for young people aged 1625.This project is now entering an exciting new phase of growth.
Were investing in a stronger, more connected network of hosts and support staff, and this role is central to making that vision a reality.
Were looking for a dynamic and compassionate Senior Housing Engagement Worker to take the lead in delivering high-quality support to young people aged 1625 living with Supported Lodgings hosts.
This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of the service, working closely with hosts, residents, and external agencies to create safe, nurturing environments where young people can thrive.
In this role, youll:
* Lead the recruitment, onboarding and retention of Supported Lodgings Providers
* Deliver tailored support plans and life skills development for young people
* Provide training, guidance and regular communication to hosts
* Coordinate workshops, events and outreach to promote independence and personal growth
* Supervise a small team and contribute to wider housing service goals

What youll need to succeed
* Experience working in housing or support services with vulnerable young people
* Strong communication and outreach skills, including the ability to engage with diverse communities
* Knowledge of housing legislation, safeguarding frameworks, and tenancy management
* Ability to assess needs and risks, and develop effective support plans
* Confidence in leading others, managing performance, and promoting best practice
* A Level 3 qualification in Housing (or willingness to work towards it)
* Full driving licence and access to transport
* A commitment to YMCA Norfolks values and inclusive ethos

Additional Information
The successful candidate will be based at our YMCA My Place Hostel alongside our Norwich Community Housing team, and participate in a rota of shifts which will cover the core hours of 37.5 hours per week (generally worked over 5 days). Core working hours for the team are from 9.00am - 7.00pm, Monday - Saturday, over 365 days of the year.
